Carolyn’s Resume

I earned my Batchelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. I was an area art major with an emphasis in Jewelry/Silversmithing and Ceramics and taught art for 32 years before retiring from teaching in 2004. I now earn my living making jewelry and participating in juried fine art shows with my husband Stephen.

In March of 2003 I became a certified instructor of Art Clay Silver and have been working with silver metal clay almost exclusively since then. The tactile nature of the clay appeals to my love of ceramics and allows my hands to be the primary tools for creating organic forms with intricate textures. Being trained in traditional metalworking skills adds a depth of knowledge to the creation of my jewelry and the creative possibilities of the metal clay are endless.
